The Application
Explore our current opportunities and apply directly including your CV and covering letter outlining your interest and suitability. We’ll assess your application against the advertised criteria and be in touch if we’d like to progress.

Phone Interview
Applicants of interest will be contacted for an initial conversation via telephone, allowing us to hear more about you, your experience and for us to answer any questions you may have.

Formal Interview
We will ask suitable applicants to atend an interview (in-person or via video) with relevant Manager/s and an HR representative. It’s a great opportunity to discuss the role, your career goals and for you to learn more about our culture.

Pre-employment Check
Once the interview process is complete, we request you provide two suitable work referees for a confidential pre-employment review.

Offers
Successful applicants will be contacted by a Manager or an HR representative and a verbal employment offer will be made. A writen contract will then be presented for review and acceptance.

After the acceptance of an employment offer, an HR representative will reach out and work with you to complete onboarding tasks in preparation for your agreed start date.

Is my application private and confidential?
Absolutely, we maintain the security of the information you provide and your application is confidential and never discussed or shared with any 3rd parties.
Who can I submit as my references?
Two referees will be required – your most recent direct manager or supervisor and someone who has supervised you during the past five years. Personal referees will not be accepted.
How long do you take to make a decision after an interview?
Typically we will contact successful applicants within a few business days and speak directly with all candidates who have been interviewed.
How should I prepare for my interview?
We like to use our interviews as a two-way process – to learn more about you and your suitability while answering any questions you’d like answered and see if we’re the right fit professionally and culturally.

Can existing employees apply for the program?
Yes, if they meet the selection criteria and have notified their current manager that they are applying.
Is there any vacation work available?
Yes. We often provide our selected graduates with paid vacation work in their penultimate year of university. We hope this allows you to gain insight into working with Delta and maybe decide to join us and grow your career as a Delta graduate.
What happens at the end of the program?
On completion of the program, our graduates will be offered a permanent position in one of our regional locations and continue the learning journey, expand industry expertise while working towards individual professional aspirations.

What should I expect along the way?
In addition to a structured learning and development plan, graduates will actively engage in our business operations, collaborating with our expert team of professional staff.
This comprehensive program immerses graduates in every facet of our business, encompassing customer service, business administration and direct interactions with our growers. They will gain firsthand insights into our growers’ on-farm activities, understanding their product and service needs, and exploring innovative ways to fulfill those requirements.
We aim for a 70:20:10 approach to learning and skill building for our graduates :
- 70% takes place in real-time, on-the-job experiences
- 20% from feedback and working with mentors and role models
- 10% spent in formally planned learning
What are we looking for in our candidates?
We are searching for candidates who are genuinely enthusiastic about working in the agricultural industry and living in regional locations. Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills and a passion for building customer relationships. We highly value individuals with strong problem solving abilities, are highly motivated and demonstrate leadership potential. A keenness for continuous learning and development is crucial for success in these roles.

Who can apply?
- Anyone with a relevant degree in agricultural science, commerce or business and completed in the last 3 year years (2021-23)
- Candidates with no more than three years relevant work experience (for example in merchandise sales, warehousing, on farm work or business administration).
- All candidates require full working rights – Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent
residency status.
